Mervin Pore

Mervin Walter Pore, 92, passed away on July 27, 2023.  He was raised on a farm and worked in his family's farm operation.  He attended high school in Wellington and Belle Plaine, Kansas and graduated from Belle Plaine High School.  After graduating from high school he moved to Wichita, Kansas where he met and married Dorothy Nadine Davis.  They had five children.  During his lifetime he worked as a factory worker, tradesman, and ranch hand.  Mervin was preceeded in death by his parents, Ivan and Josephine Pore, daughter, Shaun Holdren, brothers, Clifford and Donald Pore, and 4 grandchildren.  He is survied by 4 children, Christopher (Debra) Pore, Merlin (Wanda) Pore, Steven (Melinda) Pore, and Sandra (Wayne) Warden, Sisters, Irene (Frank Phillip) Clewell, Darlene (Ray) Peterson, 18 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Broadway Mortuary located at 1147 S. Broadway in Wichita.  The Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., also at Broadway Mortuary.  The Funeral service will be followed by a graveside service at the Belle Plaine Cemetery (old cemetery), Belle Plaine, Kansas.  In leiu of flowers, please make any donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Kansas Humane Society.
