Michael “Mike” Rolald Price went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 3, 2026. He passed peacefully in his home with his wife and family at his side. Mike was born on August 9th ,1955, to Stanley Buford Price Jr. and Wanda Maxine Ellis in Wichita, KS. He graduated from North High School in 1973. That same year, he earned his permit from the FCC as a Radio Telephone Operator. He spent many years working for Wichita State Broadcasting, then later as a sound operator for KSN. He also enjoyed reading and learning about various topics, but he was particularly passionate about genealogy, as he spent countless hours researching and compiling different family records. At the age of 6, he began learning how to play the piano and developed a deep love for music. By the age of 16, he was playing piano and organ for different churches and services in the Wichita area. He spent his whole life dedicated to his passion for music. He was the organist for Bethany United Methodist Church for over 30 years, until the last weeks of his life. He was very devoted in this role and hardly ever missed a Sunday service, even when his health made it difficult. His vast knowledge of classical music and music theory was a blessing and a gift to all who knew him. Mike met Janet at Bethany United Methodist Church, and on April 1 st , 2006, they were married. They spent 20 wonderful years loving and helping each other through life’s ups and downs. One of his greatest joys was becoming a “granddad” to his two grandchildren, Elijah and Phoebe. They were the light of his world. He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Wanda Price, as well as his brothers Randy Price, David Price, and Leonard Price. He is survived by his wife: Janet Price, stepdaughters: Sarah (and David) Grandstaff and Samantha Lott, grandchildren: Elijah and Phoebe, brother: James Price, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Services will be held on Friday June 19 th at 1:30p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1601 S. Main St. Wichita, KS 67213, with a graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 6231 W. 47 th St. S. Wichita, KS 67215.
