Crowl, Nadine L. (Wood), 97, went to be with the Lord April 6, 2018, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born in Carmen, OK February 19, 1921, daughter of Rev. Frank and Grace Wood. She had an older sister, Lois, and a younger sister, Letha, who both pre-deceased her. She graduated with honors from Alva High School, Alva, OK, 1937, where she played the violin, had perfect attendance and the highest grade in spelling. She attended two semesters at Northwestern State Teachers College in Alva, OK. She married Kelsey “Guy” Crowl October 1, 1939. They were married 70 years until his death Feb. 15, 2010. When Kelsey left to serve in the Army in World War II, Nadine completed training through the University of Kansas in Engineering, Science and Management and went to work for Boeing as an Inspector. Upon his return from the war, Kelsey went into the heating and air conditioning business. Nadine worked with Kelsey for over 60 years as Secretary/Treasurer for Kelsey Crowl Heating & Air Conditioning in Wichita, KS. Nadine and Kelsey had two children: Larry Crowl (deceased) and Linda Crowl DeTienne; four grandchildren, Britt (Tiffany) DeTienne, Lindsey (Antoine) Phillips, Brad Harrell, Mark (Chandra) Crowl; three great grandchildren, Soleil and Archer Phillips, Kayla Harrell. Since 2014 Nadine has resided at Oxford Grand New Market Assisted Living, where the residents and staff became her extended family. Much appreciation to everyone at Oxford Grand for the love and friendship they gave her, and to the Serenity Hospice staff who cared for her in her final days.
