Nancy was a graduate of Wichita East High School, where she was a member of ROTC. Following high school, she graduated from the University of Wichita. where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. She furthered her education with a Master’s in Art from Northern Oklahoma College. Her passion for nurturing talent and fostering creativity led her to work as a camp counselor at Estes Park for three years and as an assistant swim coach at the Wichita Swim Club for two years. For seven years, she established and directed the Derby High School Art Department, where she inspired countless students to explore their artistic potential.

For over 55 years, Nancy owned Nancy's Garden and Kitchen Arts and the Green Elephant shopping village, where she utilized her creativity to curate unique experiences for visitors. Many tennis players enjoyed weeks at her residence, where they were treated like royalty during their stay. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, always focusing on their positives and the potential each one held.

She was known for her neatly polished appearance and notable clothing and footwear, often highlighted by her trademark silver hair. Nancy commanded respect through her thoughtful, kind demeanor and infectious smile, which endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A teacher at heart, she believed in hard work as the key to success, leading by example and encouraging those around her.
