Nancy C. Howey (Goodman), 73, passed away April 23, 2018. She is survived by cousins David Sinclair, Columbus, KS, Gary Sinclair, Kent, WA, Bud Stitch, Grove, OK, Linda Drenik, Pittsburg, KS as well as many lifelong friends and neighbors. Her longterm partner, Jerry Kinzy, passed away in 2014. Nancy was born in Wichita, Kansas, graduating from Wichita South High (Class of 62), attended college at Emporia State and graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Education. She taught grade school, worked as a health inspector for the Sedgwick County Health Department and retired as a nursing home inspector for the State of Kansas. She loved classical music as well as contemporary music. Nancy loved attending the Wichita Symphony and visiting Botanica. Nancy was an intrepid traveler, venturing to many parts of the world to view famous works of art, often choosing to be a solo traveler. New York City was a favorite location where she loved attending plays and visiting art museums. Nancy loved decorating her home for all holidays and was very attentive to the smallest of details. She enjoyed entertaining and was very caring and supportive to all of her friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, July 7th at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Wichita (1101 N. River Blvd.) and at 2 p.m. the same day at Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita (1000 N. Hillside). In lieu of flowers, please support the Wichita Symphony Orchestra or Botanica: The Wichita Gardens.
