Norma “Jane” Weikal, 74, child of God through faith in Christ, passed to her eternal home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Jane was an elementary school teacher for 37 years. She began her career in Topeka, KS and then taught in Andover, KS for four years after moving to the Wichita area. She spent the remaining 32 years sharing the love of Jesus to her students at Holy Cross Lutheran School. She retired in 2013 and devoted her time to traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Jane was a beloved sister, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Memorial service is 10:00am, Monday, January 17 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Dorothy Hutchison. She is survived by her husband, Alan Weikal. Jane and Alan would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on January 17. Jane is also survived by her children, Grant (Joanna) Weikal, and Sarah (Matt) Bengtson; sister, Harriet Ann (John) Fontana; grandchildren, Mason Weikal, Hudson Weikal, Emmi Bengtson, Cecily Bengtson, and Rowen Bengtson. Jane and Alan also consider their Swedish foreign exchange student, Jan Mӧrk, a son. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Holy Cross Lutheran School and Orphan Grain Train-Wichita Branch. Services by Cozine Memorial Group-Cozine Life Events Center.
