Patricia E. “Pat” (Douglas) Scott, 92, loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many, went to Heaven on February 8, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 18, at Metro East Baptist Church, 333 N. 143rd St. East.
Pat was born to W. Fred and Hazel Ruth Douglas on July 8, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Putnam City Schools in Putnam City, Oklahoma. On February 4, 1949, she married Donald Nichols Scott.
Pat was a loving and supportive pastor’s wife to Don as he served as pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Augusta, Kansas. After moving to Wichita, he pastored at Metropolitan Baptist Church and later at Metro East Baptist Church.
Pat sold real estate for many years. She and Don started Scott Land Development and developed Lakeside II in Augusta, Kansas, Bridgefield in Wichita, and Scottsdale and The Orchard at Shadybrook. They also negotiated the purchase of the property on 143rd St. East where Metro East Baptist Church is located.
Pat stayed busy raising her three children, developing real estate projects, and serving faithfully as a pastor’s wife. She was known for her wonderful red velvet cake and enjoying crossword puzzles. Pat was loved by many and will be greatly missed. When we all get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Don Scott, grandsons, Matt and Chad Crowder, her parents, and her two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Debbi (Dr. Richard) Crowder of Wichita and Terri (Dr. Mike) Todd of Augusta, Kansas; son, Dr. Randy (Eileen) Scott of Los Altos Hills, CA; grandson, Dr. Ric (Dr. Susan) Crowder and their children, Kayla (Jace) Burdette, Brennan Crowder, and Madelyn Crowder; grandson, Adam (Lisa) Crowder and their daughter, Brittany Crowder; granddaughter, Maci Crowder; great-grandson, Griffin Crowder; grandson, Ryan (Jennifer) Todd and their children, Chloe Todd, Laci Todd, and Arlen Todd; grandson, Dr. Preston (Carlee) Todd and their children, Landon Todd and Lauren Todd; grandson, Aaron (Emily) Scott and their children, Charlotte Scott, Vanderbilt Scott, and Lincoln Scott; granddaughter, Taylor (Brad) Spaulding and their son, Remington Spalding; and grandson, Brandon Scott.
