Paulette Whiteside

Paulette Kaye Whiteside, retired secretary at Sunrise Christian Academy, passed away on June 10, 2024. She was born on August 4, 1946, to Paul A. Mann and Miriam Brown Mann in Wichita, Kansas. Paulette graduated from Augusta High School, in addition to attending Stephen's College and Friends University.

Remembered for her culinary skills in making the best cream puffs and fried chicken, Paulette also had a great sense of humor. Her engaging personality allowed her to effortlessly converse with anyone, showcasing her exceptional ability to connect with others. Paulette was admired for her keen sense of style and beauty that never went unnoticed by those around her.

In her leisure time, Paulette enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, and being an avid "armchair traveler" and faithfully studying her Bible. She took immense pride in her family, considering her children and grandchildren as her proudest accomplishments. Her love for the Lord was the fuel for her life and the light that drew people to her.

Paulette was preceded in death by her grandson Harrison Wetzel, sister Paula Mann, brother Greg Mann, brother Paul A Mann Jr., father Paul A Mann, and mother Miriam Brown Mann.

She is survived by her son Richard Hancock, son Mark Hancock (Rachel), granddaughter Natalie Hancock, grandson Everett Hancock, grandson Deacon Hancock, son Joshua Whiteside, daughter Marietta Wetzel (David), and grandson Reagan Wetzel. She is also survived by her sister Polly Berry (Walter), numerous nieces and nephews.

Services honoring Paulette's life will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Cozine Life Events Center followed by burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Kingman, Kansas, at 2:00 pm.

Paulette will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her but will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
