Relna Herndon

January 6, 1915 — June 24, 2015

Retired Boeing File Clerk, Relna Nafziger Herndon was 2nd daughter born to
William and Elizabeth Nafziger. Born at Crystal Springs, KS, Harper County, and
grown to maturity in Harper where she attended public schools. On June 7, 1933,
she was united in marriage to Leonard I Herndon at Anthony, KS. They lived in
Harper until they moved to Wichita in 1940. To this union 1 son William L was
born March 2, 1936. Relna worked at Boeing as a file clerk 29A½ years and retired
in 1976. Then they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas for 10 years until Leonard’s
health began to fail, and they moved back to Wichita. Left to cherish her memory
are son William and his wife Carol, two grandchildren- Mark and his wife
Jennifer, and Cheryl and her husband Andrew, four great grandchildren, Isaac
and Adam Herndon, and Olivia and Jessica Busada. She was a member of Martinson
Avenue Christian Church, and Eastern Star #475 (Rose Douglas). Family
Visitation, 6-8 pm, Friday, June 26th, and Funeral Services, 1:30 pm, Saturday,
June 27th, both at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS. Interment
at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Family members preceding her in death are:
husband Leonard “Sparky”, mother Elizabeth (Reber) Nafziger, father William
Nafziger, four sisters Grace Scott, Lucille Ingram, Mildred Nafziger, and JoAnna
Nafziger, and one brother Clayton Nafziger. Memorials to Gentiva Hospice, 2622
