Rex H. Lee

Rex H. Lee, 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. 

He was born July 20, 1933, in Wichita to Robert H. and Maude A. Lee. Rex graduated from North High School in 1951. He entered the United States Air Force in 1952, serving during the Korean War while stationed in Japan and Korea, before his honorable discharge in 1956. 

Upon returning home, he attended Wichita University for two years. Rex began his career as a Building Inspector for the City of Wichita. He then transitioned into the refrigeration field, working with J.H. Bowman and White Distributing before launching his own company, Lee Refrigeration Services, Inc. He later enjoyed a successful 25-year career in real estate and real estate appraisal. 

An avid golfer, Rex loved spending his free time on the golf course.Following his retirement in 1999, Rex spent several years in Pharr, Texas, before returning to Wichita in 2013. He found a wonderful, supportive community in "The Pines," where neighbors truly took care of one another. Rex was also proud to be among the founding members of Antioch Christian Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert E. Lee.Rex is survived by his loving wife, Cignora J. Lee; Children, Ross H. Lee (Dena) and Ron C. Lee (Tina), all of Wichita; Vonda A. Lee of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Judy Dopson and Joseph Williams, of Vancleave, Mississippi. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Jesse, Cody, Kandace, Ryan, Kassandra, Lottie, Desi, Zoey, Greg, and Fathom; and 21great-grandchildren. Service is scheduled for Monday, August 31st at 10:30 am, at Antioch Christian Church, 3741 W 15th St N, Wichita, KS 67203. A memorial has been established with Antioch Christian Church in leu of flowers.
