Richard D. Eckrich

Richard D. “Dick” Eckrich, 86, of Wichita, entered eternal life on January 16th at Wesley Woodlawn Hospital in Wichita, after a brief illness. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucille Eckrich of Iowa City, Iowa and his sister Sharon Skerik of Coralville, Iowa. Born April 21, 1937 in Iowa City, Dick graduated from the University of Iowa in 1960 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. His career in commercial real estate started with jobs at Phillips and Pizza Hut in its early days, eventually leading him to Wichita, where he worked for Koch Industries and Rent-A-Center.

Dick is survived by his niece, Sarah Skerik Reschly (Blake) of Libertyville, IL, and nephew Joseph F. Skerik IV (Michelle) of Tucson, AZ, and their children, Joseph and Genevieve. Dick was a constant in all their lives and will be dearly missed by his family.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 22, at the Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67206, between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, at the Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67206.
