Richard Franz

Franz, Richard D., 81, passed away April 26, 2017. Graveside service, 12:30 pm, Thursday, Kensington Gardens. Memorial service 2:00pm Thursday, NewSpring Church. Richard was born in Omaha, NE and raised in Buhler, KS. He attended Tabor College and Kansas State University. His career in corporate production management allowed him to reside in Texas, California, Connecticut, New York State, Miami, FL and Tennessee. He chose to retire in Wichita, KS to be near family. Richard was an avid golfer and K-State fan. He loved sporting events, travel and holidays with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Franz; brother, John, and son-in-law, CDR Kurt Menke. Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Wichert) Franz; daughters, Gail (Dan) Heitmeyer and Rhonda Menke; grandsons, David Heitmeyer, Steven (Tristen-fiance’), Ryan Menke and Alexander Menke; brother, Rodney (Karen) Franz and sister-in-law, Elaine Franz. Richard will be greatly missed, but his family knows he is in Heaven, reunited with loved ones. Memorial contributions may be made to Tabor College. Share condolences at www.CozineMemorial.com.
