Richard Sawyer

Richard K. Sawyer, 61, employee at Textron/Beech for 37 years, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2017, at KU Med. Center, Kansas City, KS., surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Parsons, KS on March 23, 1955. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Jerald Sawyer. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Linda Sawyer; children, Danielle Sawyer and Samuel Sawyer; mother, Dorothy and husband, Johnny Wetzstein; sisters, Pam Blackburn (Terry), Janette Grillot (Tim); goddaughter, Kristin Rossman (Travis); 10 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and nephews; 8 great-great nieces and nephews. Richard will be remembered for his love of the Lord Jesus, his dedication to his family, hard work, self-sacrifice, and joyful personality. Memorial Services, 1 pm, Tuesday, March 28, at New Spring Church, 1200 E. 21st St. N., in the North auditorium. A memorial has been established with the Union Rescue Mission.
