Ricky Coon

Ricky Allen Coon Sr., 67, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on March 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. 

Ricky was born on May 6, 1958, in Amarillo, TX. He was a retired truck driver who spent many years on the road, working hard to provide for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, resilience, and dedication to those he loved. 

Above all, Ricky valued his family. He took pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather, and the time he spent with them meant the most to him. His legacy will live on through the lives of those he loved and supported. 

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marilyn; his children, Ricky Coon Jr. (Amanda) and Melinda Winsor (Brad); his sisters, Debra Kile (Glenn) and Janet Butler; and his cherished grandchildren, Taryn, Zane, Gunner, Bryson, Skylar, Micala, and Hannah. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva; his brothers, Darrell and Randy; and his sisters, Nancy and Mary. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cozine Memorial Group – Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, March 27, at 10:30 AM.
