Robert Lee Barrow

Robert L. (Bob) Barrow, a retired postal carrier, passed away on June 21, 2023, in his hometown of Wichita. He was 85 years old.

Born on August 4, 1937, in Wichita, Bob was the son of Pearl and Bettie Barrow. Bob was a loving husband to his wife, Myrna Barrow, and a loving father to their children. He is survived by their sons James T. Barrow and Robert A. Barrow, as well as their daughter Julie J. Herrington and son-in-law Kevin W. Herrington. Bob is also survived by three grandchildren Nash T. and wife Margie Vargas Herrington, Channing R. and husband Zach Mastroly, and Piper O. Herrington, as well as great-grandchildren Callum Mastroly & Baker Mastroly.

Bob impacted the community deeply throughout his lifelong career as a postal carrier and beyond. His kindness and work ethic earned him numerous accolades during his years with the Postal Service; however, Robert’s character extended far beyond his professional achievements.

Bob was an avid supporter and attendee of several sporting establishments. He was a faithful fan of the Boston Red Sox and even once traveled with his son James T. Barrow to attend one of their games at Fenway Park. A very memorable trip. He also annually attended the Indianapolis 500 Race for decades having a love for the sport. And, on a local level he was a 30-year season ticket holder for the Wichita State University Men’s Basketball team. He enjoyed many wonderful years while cheering on others.

The final services for Bob L. Barrow will be held at Cozine Memorial Group – Broadway Mortuary in Wichita beginning with visitation on July 11^th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service July 12^th at 12:30 PM. An Internment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
