Ronald Seibel

April 19, 1939 — May 4, 2020

Ronald Dean Seibel passed from this earth to his eternal home on May 4, 2020 in Wichita, KS at the age of 81. Ronald was born April 19, 1939 in McClusky, North Dakota, to Herbert and Bertha Seibel and was the middle of five children. From a young age, the church and following Christ was taught in his home. As a boy he prayed to receive Christ as his savior one night following family prayer time. Ronald graduated from McClusky High School where he fell in love with his high school sweet heart Katherine Dockter. The two were married on August 22, 1959 while attending Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was a graduate and also the Dean of Men for four years following graduation. He was also a graduate of MB Biblical Seminar in Fresno, CA. They would go on to 35 years of ministry in several Mennonite Brethren churches in the Midwest including Yale, SD, Henderson, NE, Freeman, SD and Mountain Lake, MN. He also served for several years as Central District Chair, MB Churches. In retirement Ronald, together with Katherine, remained active in a variety of roles at the First MB Church in Wichita, KS. Ronald claimed Philippians 1:20-21 as his life verse: “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Compelled by love, his life purpose was to help bring people into faith with Christ and into God’s family. Survivors include wife, Kathy, and two children, Karis (Marcus) Schroeder of Wichita, KS, Bryan (Lori) Seibel of Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren Taryn (Alex) Oakley of Wichita, KS, Scott (Pailyn) of Manhattan, KS, Trey (fiancé Anna Frazier) Seibel of Omaha, NE, and Thea Seibel of Lincoln, NE.
