Sandra Sue Schaumburg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 31, 2023, at the age of 82, after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born on October 19, 1940, in Harper, KS, to Grace and George Gleichman. She attended Harper High School and graduated in the class of 1958. After high school, she became X-Ray Certified at Wesley Medical Center. Sandra married Harvey Dee Romans on November 22nd, 1959; they were happily married for 48 years.

Sandra loved raising her family over the years. Her life revolved around her children, helping them show horses in the summer, encouraging them in school and sports, and later visiting them as adults. Most of her time was spent gardening, playing tennis and bridge, helping on the family farm, and traveling. She loved to be involved in the community and help make a difference in the lives of others. She served on the Anthony-Harper School Board, Special Education CO-OP, Pratt Advisory Board, and was an active member of the Harper United Methodist Church for many years. She was known for her servant's heart and the most beautiful smile.

On August 14, 2010, Sandra married Ronald Schaumburg of Wichita, KS. They were married for 13 years and enjoyed their life together. They loved to travel, fish, and spend time with their families. Sandra was preceded in death by her late husband, Harvey Romans, and her parents, Grace and George Gleichman. She will be deeply missed by her husband Ron Schaumburg; children: Dr. Terry Romans of Liberal, KS, Gregg Romans of Oro Valley, AZ, and Amber Bird of Wichita, KS; stepchildren: Debbie Schaumburg of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Steve Schaumburg of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Delaney Bird of Kansas City, KS, and Alea Bird of Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandra’s memory may be made to the Harper United Methodist Church, PO Box 365 Harper, KS 67058. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
