Sushila Bhakta

Sushilabhen Makanbhai Bhakta was born in Ambheti, Gujurat India on August 29, 1947 to Makanbhai and Dhanibhen Khusal. The family moved to South Africa in 1950 whilst she was still in her youth where she would pursue her education. Thereafter, she immigrated to the United States in 1976. Her life journey would lead her and her husband Baldevbhai Bhakta to purchase a motel in Carlsbad, New Mexico where they were successful business owners for 20 years. During her 78 year life span, she lived a very humble and simplistic lifestyle which suited her well being appropriately. Passions in life were her family, especially her grandchildren, and her religion. Her retirement consisted of 6 years in Bakersfield, California and several months in Wichita, Kansas. She ultimately succumbed to illness on January 22nd, 2026.
