Theodore James Johnson, 79, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023. Theodore served his country in the United States military for many years. He began in the Navy, then enlisted with the US Army serving in Special Forces for fourteen years.  He achieved many different awards over his career; among them, the Purple Heart for being wounded in service. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Theodore is survived by his wife, Sharon Colleen Johnson; children, Lance Johnson (Melanie), Kym Gifford (Lin), Nathan Johnson (Laura), Brad Johnson (Vicki), and Lamar Johnson (Jonna); stepchildren, Rachel Murphy (Don), John Monroe, Michelle Monroe, and Brent Reeves; brothers, Paul Smith and Art Smith; sister, Marilyn Easter (Jack); 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 am, Friday, Oct. 13, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, followed by Committal Service and Military Honors at 12 pm, Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Winfield, KS. Share condolences at www.cozine.com.
