Simpson, Thomas Alexander, 71, passed away on July 3, 2022. Tommy was born June 26, 1951 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Thomas Alexander Simpson and Helen Jean Shaning. He immigrated to Wichita, Kansas with his family in 1954. Tommy was preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law, Cathleen (Barry). Survivors include, his mother Helen, his brothers, Barry of Tucson, AZ, Brian (Karen Gertsen) of Wichita, Glenn (Carol) of Wichita, and sister, Karen (Matthew Stephen) Copeland of Wichita, nieces and nephews, Katie (Andrew) Vienot of Evanston, IL, James Copeland of Wichita, Will Simpson of Wichita and Ryan Simpson of Tucson, AZ.

Tommy appreciated music, playing the trumpet in the Wichita West High School Band. His favorite pop groups included The Four Seasons and the California tunes of Jan and Dean and The Beach Boys. He also enjoyed his Gaelic heritage through traditional Scottish folk and pipe band music and the poetry of Robert Burns. His hobbies included judo, golf and league bowling.

Tommy was a life-long working man. In Wichita he was employed by Home Lumber and Pizza Hut where he started his career in trucking and warehousing. Shortly after graduating from high school he moved to the Fort Worth, Texas area. There he was employed by Radio Shack and Federal Express and was also a Loyal Order of Moose member.

Tommy returned to Wichita after retiring in 2020 and he particularly appreciated the care provided by the Cancer Center of Kansas and his all-time favorite local restaurant, Taco Tico.
