Trey Houlden

Trey Jacob Houlden, 32, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on January 12, 2026, in his hometown. Born on June 26, 1993, in Wichita.

From a young age, Trey demonstrated a fierce dedication to wrestling, a sport that became a defining part of his life. Through countless hours of training and unwavering commitment, he rose to become a 6A state champion in high school. His success on the mat was not only a testament to his talent but also to the influence of the coaches, teammates, and family members who helped guide him along the way.

Trey carried that same determination into his professional life as both a handyman and an arborist. He took pride in his work and found joy in being outdoors and using his hands to build and care for the world around him. Whether climbing trees or fixing what was broken, Trey approached each task with skill and heart.

But it was Trey's character, his kindness, generosity, and deep love for others that left the most lasting impression. He had a big heart and an even bigger hug. He never hesitated to offer help or comfort; he is the reason for the saying, "he would give you the shirt off his back", and he probably did many times. Those who knew him will remember how he never ended a phone call without saying “I love you,” how he checked in on people even when carrying burdens of his own, and how he made everyone feel seen and valued.

Above all else, Trey’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his beloved son, Kyler Houlden. The bond they shared was unmistakable, Kyler was often by Trey's side, their connection evident in every smile and every moment spent together. Trey’s pride in Kyler knew no bounds; being Kyler's dad was not just a role but the center of his world.

Trey is lovingly remembered by his son Kyler Houlden; his mother Christy Kramer and stepfather Ray Kramer; his father Michael Houlden and stepmother Alyson Houlden; his brother Ryan Houlden and nephew Jett Houlden; sisters Kori Kramer and Maci Kramer; sister Janie Houlden; niece Heidi Williams; grandfather Jimmie Leighty; grandmother Renee Wilkins; grandmother Linda Bland; aunt Kara Mayo (Corey Wiley); cousins Micah Mayo, Delaney Mayo, and Adley Mayo.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Donna Reed and paternal grandfather David Houlden.

Trey's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his warmth, strength, and unwavering love. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in his honor.
