Troy Leon Sadler, age 88, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on June 24, 2026, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Troy was born on September 3, 1937, in Portales, New Mexico, to Arthur and Cora (Eagleston) Sadler. He was raised in Elida, New Mexico, where he attended elementary and high school. Troy and Elizabeth (Beth) were married at First Baptist Church in Elida, New Mexico on July 5, 1957. Troy then proceeded to obtain his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from Eastern New Mexico University.
Troy was an Industrial Arts teacher and multi-sport coach for 45 years starting in Carrizozo, New Mexico, and finishing his career in Johnson, Kansas. This included coaching each of his four children in their various sports. Besides fishing with his family and friends, he utilized his industrial arts skills to complete hundreds of projects for family, friends, community and worthy causes.
Troy is survived by his wife Beth (which he called his better half ), married just short of 69 years, son David (Toni) Sadler, daughter Teri Nichols, daughter Kyla (Carroll) Stephenson and son Jeff (Lori) Sadler, grandchildren Christopher (Megan) Sadler, Tesk (Greg) Bentley, Alek (Taylor) Ferguson, Aubree (Thomas) Dieker, Leisha Sadler, Ben Sadler, and his seven “apples of his eye” great grandchildren. Troy was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Cora Sadler, brothers D.W. Sadler, Arthur L. Sadler, Billy Sadler, Jesse Sadler, sister Bobbie Martin, and grandson Brook Stephenson.
Those who knew Troy will remember him for his love of God, honesty, biblical knowledge, fishing skills, perfection in all he did, and his phrases of "One more time" or “I just need to do one more thing.”
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on June 27, 2026, at Celebration Baptist Church, 7202 E 9th St. N. Wichita, KS 67206
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celebration Baptist Church denoted to Operation Christmas Child and Missions in memory of Troy L. Sadler. A special thank you to the nurses and Doctors of Ascension – Via Christi and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Their care and concern displayed the utmost in what professional healthcare should be.
Troy lived a life marked by service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, family, church and students. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
