Vernon E. Moos

Vernon Edward Moos, 86, was born on August 29, 1938, in Hays, Kansas, to Edward John and Loyola Huelsman Moos. He died on May 22, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up on the family farm south of Menlo and graduated from the Menlo high school in 1956. He attended Ft. Hays State College. He worked for several local farmers and then joined a custom harvest crew. He purchased a parcel of land in Arkansas and moved there where he worked for Emerson Electric building electric motors. In the late 1980's, he moved to Wichita where he made his home until he died. In his spare time, he loved to work and attend flea markets and auctions. He is survived by three siblings; Maetta Brungardt of Denver, Colorado, Ida Marie Koehler of Wichita, Kansas and David Moos of Byers, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; Mary Catherine Moos; infant sister who died at birth; and his sister, Deanna Sulzman. A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 585 N. French Ave. in Colby, Kansas. Share condolences at www.cozine.com.
