Vickie Maxine Davis

Vickie M. Davis, 81, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, Vickie will be remembered for her generous heart, selfless spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Born on February 12, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas, Vickie was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Maxine L. Fiegel. A lifelong Wichitan, she spent many years as an optician working alongside her brother, Dr. Ronald L. Fiegel, in his optometry practice. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed helping patients feel cared for. She was also a homemaker and ran an in-home daycare when her kids were small, starting one yet again after retiring where she cared for a great niece and nephew, and then her three beloved granddaughters.

She was a dedicated caretaker whose love was demonstrated by supporting anyone who was ill or in need, and her amazing cooking and baking were cherished by all who had the honor of eating it. Above all else, Vickie cherished her family. She was a loving wife of 47 years to her late husband, Bill, and together they built a life centered on love and family. One of her greatest blessings was caring for and spending time with her granddaughters, whom she adored beyond measure. Her and Bill were at every concert, sporting event, awards ceremony and graduation in their lives, missing nothing until they got too frail to attend. The memories that were shared will be cherished for years to come.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William "Bill" Davis; her brother, Dr. Ronald Fiegel; and her sister, Deanna Reif.

She is survived by her son, William "Mark" Davis and his wife, Julie; her daughter, Lisa Barger and her husband, Preston; her brothers, Raymond D. Fiegel and his wife, Linda, Terry Fiegel and his wife, Patricia; her sister, Pat Brown; her sister-in-law, Judy Fiegel; and her beloved granddaughters, Avaree, Langley, and Emmarie Barger. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who were blessed to know her.

Vickie's gentle heart, unwavering love for her family, and caring nature touched countless lives. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the love she instilled in those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
