Virginia Bosley

September 12, 1929 — May 29, 2021

Bosley, Virginia Lee, 91, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 29, 2021. She was born in Utica, Kansas on September 12, 1929 to Orval W Spear and Dollie M Spear (Babcock). On September 3, 1950, she married her husband of almost 70 years Delbert Harold Bosley in Lincoln, Kansas.

Together they started a family in February of 1953 amidst the challenges of war-time and Delbert's service to our country. A second child would come in September of 1955. She enjoyed many jobs from providing daycare in the early days to using her business college education as an executive secretary for Dental Hygiene schools in Wichita and later Ft Worth, Texas. Virginia's love of people and serving her church led to years as the wedding coordinator for Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas.

She is the mother of two daughters, Brenda L Johnson (Gary) and Micha D Schmidt (Kip), the grandmother of four grandchildren, Holly D Johnson-Page (Brian), Angela L Johnson-Hudgins (Joshua), Jacob C Schmidt, and Lacey L Schmidt (Ryan Orth), and the great grandmother (GG) of six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orval Spear and Dollie Spear, her sister Vivian Kobbeman, and her husband Delbert Bosley.

Virginia, when younger, enjoyed a great game of golf, watching and attending football games as well as sewing and making doll clothes. She became known for her ability to entertain and feed many people in her home from church friends to Delbert's staff at Cargill. Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother filling them with wonderful memories from her love of Christmas, holiday traditions, and fun family dinners. She especially enjoyed her grandkids playing dress up from wigs and clothes she had acquired. This loving grandma was then treated to a fashion show unlike any other. She will be forever remembered for how special she made their lives!

While a celebration of her life is pending, we have established a memorial to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice where Virginia's care from the staff on the Inpatient unit was exemplary. Our heartfelt thanks to you all!
