Welton Maurice Harding

Welton Maurice Harding, 76, of Wichita passed away at 10:20am, Monday, January 9th, 2023 at his home.

"Skip" as he was affectionately known, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. The son of the late Robert and Bernice (McKnight) Booker. Skip grew up and attended schools in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1966.

In August 1967, he married Phyllis Patterson. They later divorced. Through this union they had 3 children. Michael, Adriene, and Eric. In his earlier years, he was employed at Parsons State Hospital & Training center. He and his family later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he was employed at AT&T as a phone operator. He later returned to Parsons, before moving to Wichita.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving brother, Robert "Bob" (Ellynne) Booker, of Parsons; two sons, Michael Harding of Wichita, Eric (Jackie Stephens) Harding, of Wichita; one daughter, Adriene (Stephen) McElvine, of White Plains, Maryland; 7 grandchildren, Kelcei, Talesha, Donzell, Dai'jona, Jerrick, Delaina, Jaila; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews, Robert "Rob" Booker, and Brock Booker, both of Wichita; and a host of other family and friends.

Skip was preceded in death by both his parents.

A private viewing will be held by the family in Wichita. A burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons, at a later date.
