Darin Michael Sauer, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of March 6, 2021 in Fullerton, CA, where he lived for more than half his life. He was born in Wichita, KS on February 27, 1977.
He is preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma, Fred and Virginia Sauer; Grammie and Granddad, Donna and Lloyd Furr; Grandfather, John Robert Maclean, and Aunt Suzanne Erickson.
He is survived by his loving parents, Chuck and Debbie; his sister, Jenelle Crawford and her husband, Byron; his nephews, Colton and Cason; and the love of his life, Jennifer Clayton and her son, Trevor.
Highlights of his time growing up in Wichita include performing in numerous plays at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School and Music Theater for Young People. He worked for Music Theater of Wichita all 4 years of high school. He sang with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra Choir at Carnegie Hall. He moved to Fullerton, CA in 1995 to continue his love of the performing arts.
His pursuits led him to mentoring kids for 19 years while running the Brea Olinda High School Technical Theater Program. His passions included LA Kings hockey, LA Dodgers baseball, fishing, woodworking, gaming, cooking and bowling with his team. He was kind, genuine, committed, hardworking and honest. He enlightened us, challenged us and made every experience an adventure. He will be greatly missed by his KS and CA families, his many friends, colleagues and students. To say the least, he lived life to the fullest.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19 at 3:30 pm at Broadway Mortuary.
